Car Pooling for the Planet

In the most recent efforts to preserve the environment and contribute to its overall “health”, many individuals have started car pooling for the planet. Car pooling is known by several different names. These include “ride share”, and even “ride pool”.

With rising fuel costs, the ever-growing economic recession, and the issue of global warming becoming big topics these days, many individuals indulge in this type of activity to ensure they save money, save time, and save the planet. Here, you will learn how beneficial this type of activity is to our world as a whole.

Believe it or not, by engaging in car pooling practices, you can save quite a bit of money on a day to day basis. The most obvious expense when it comes to driving to and from work is the fuel that must be used in order to do so. In addition to this expense, you may incur the expense of traffic toll charges.

I have not even touched base on the fact that there is regular upkeep, maintenance, and repairs that naturally occur when using your personal vehicle to go to and from your job, and other areas of interest that you may visit.

Now, when it comes to fuel and the impact on the environment, consider the following:

1.    As you are filling up your vehicle with gasoline, it allows some of the chemicals to escape off into the air. If you look while filling up, you are likely to see a few of the chemicals escaping. This can be exceptionally harmful to the environment.

2.    If gasoline is spilled during filling a car up, or through another instance, the chemicals can break down when they hit water sources. As this occurs, the toxicity of the chemicals can spread and result in complications when it comes to ecological natural processes.

These two points are only a couple of the ways in which vehicles can impact the environment. By car pooling, you can eliminate the chances of these two things occurring.

Benefits of Car Pooling for the Planet

1.    By car pooling, each person that elects to ride with another is working to prevent the wear and tear of the tires of their vehicle. The production and the elimination of faulty tires results in using a large amount of energy, as well as the fact that it places dangerous gases in the atmosphere.

2.    If more people engaged in car pooling, fewer emissions would enter the atmosphere. It is believed that these pollutants account for over 75% of all greenhouses gases.

3.    Car pooling can assist in preserving our natural oil resources and reserves.

4.    And you might even arrive at your destination sooner in those cities that provide fast lanes for car poolers.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a way to make a positive contribution to the environment, it is important to consider car pooling. If you are able to do this, you will find that you not only save money, but you also save valuable time and save yourself from enduring vehicular complications.

car pooling is indeed a good way to save fuel and help Mother Earth. Our school had it as project and it has a good impact in our community. We also had a chance meeting new friends during our car pooling project.
